Tie-Dye Sugar Cookies
Tuesday, September 27 for Homeschoolers Ages 5 and up in Hoover
Description
In this baking from scratch class, kids will work in a group to make lofthouse-style sugar cookies along with buttercream frosting. They will learn how to create vibrant frosting colors using gel food coloring. Students will eat one cookie in class and take two home. Snack and water bottle provided during class time while cookies bake and cool. Date: Tuesday, September 27, 2022 Time: 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM Ages: 5 and up Cost: $35 Teacher: Homeschool mom Teresa Huynh Location: Mrs. Teresa's home off Valleydale/Caldwell Mill Rd Learning Objectives: 1. The purpose and technique of creaming butter and sugar using a mixer. 2. The benefits of using cornstarch to create cookies with a soft, classic texture. 3. How to create vibrant colored frosting using gel food coloring.
