When I first started Itty Bitty Bakers back in 2018, one of my biggest inspirations was Baking Class by Deanna F. Cook. That book showed me how easy, fun, and beneficial baking can be for kids. Since then, I’ve also loved Cooking Class and found it's recipes so helpful, as well. So, when Deanna offered to send me a copy of her latest cookbook, Cupcake Class, I was beyond excited to check it out.
A Unique Focus on Cupcake Decorating
Cupcake Class is a perfect addition to this series of cookbooks. I love how the whole cookbook is has a unique, not often seen, focus on cupcakes alone. It does this in a way that feels approachable, creative, and genuinely fun for kids.
The step-by-step visuals make it easy for young bakers (and their parents who may be bakign novices) to follow along. The decorating ideas range from simple beginner designs to more imaginative creations.
Encouraging Independence in Young Bakers
What I especially appreciate is how kid-centered the book is. It encourages independence while still providing clear guidance. This is exactly what I strive to foster in my own baking classes. If you have a child who loves baking, or if you’re hoping to spark that interest, this book would be a fantastic resource.
If your kids already enjoy baking, cupcakes are often their favorite place to experiment. This book gives them lots of inspiration and confidence to do just that.
A Sweet Addition to Family Cookbooks
I absolutely recommend Cupcake Class for families, educators, and anyone looking to make baking with kids a little more creative and fun. It’s a sweet addition to an already wonderful series.
