Meet the Team: The Instructors Who Bring Baking to Life

Since its founding in 2018, Itty Bitty Bakers has been comprised of a winning team of talented and energetic teachers who bring the culinary arts to life for our students. Whether they are teaching our youngest bakers the art of creating the perfect buttercream swirl for their cupcakes or leading a fondant cake workshop for teens, our teachers pour their hearts into making sure each student has a fulfilling and educational experience.

Our goal is for each young baker to leave our classes not only with enhanced culinary skills, but also a confidence in the kitchen that they can apply in their own homes and beyond.

Our Experience: A Variety of Backgrounds But Shared Common Ground

Our teachers come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all share a love of baking and a desire to instill that love in today's youth. Teachers Sarah Cooley, Sarah Eubanks, Caitlin FitzSimons, and Katie McCreless currently work as full-time teachers in public and private school settings. Ashley Kauffman, one of our Auburn teachers, is a former middle school science teacher turned stay-at-home mom. The classroom management skills that each of these teachers bring to their schools are easily transferrable to the kitchen.

Longtime teacher, Brittany Dollar, has been able to balance a full-time career as a pastry chef and chocolatier while teaching seasonal classes for Itty Bitty Bakers. College student Brooke Rierson is currently pursuing a culinary arts degree at Auburn University. Itty Bitty Bakers gives Brooke a natural outlet for her culinary pursuits.

Itty Bitty Bakers provides a creative outlet for many of our teachers, including mom of four, Hillary Ryan, and Dianne Rosenberry, who one day aspires to open her own nut-free bakery. Jeni Warram, one of the first teachers for Itty Bitty Bakers, works full-time as a pediatric nurse. Her ability to put her students at ease is displayed in each of her classes.

A Style For Every Student

While every instructor has a unique style of teaching, giving kids the opportunity to express creativity through culinary arts is a common thread in each kitchen. Our teachers foster environments that allow for students to gain confidence, even through their mistakes and their messes. Most importantly, our teachers want their students to have fun!

What's Their Why?

Being a part of the Itty Bitty Bakers team allows our teachers the flexibility to teach classes that fit into their own schedules. Our home based teaching model grants teachers the chance to build longtime relationships with the students in their communities. Many students transition to the role of youth helper as they progress through our classes.

A Few of Our Favorite Things

Asking our teachers to pick their favorite recipe to teach is often like asking a mother to pick her favorite child. However, some of our all around favorite camp curricula include Storybook Baking, Magic Kingdom, Wacky Science, and Out of This World Baking Camps.
