How to Remember Your Favorite Go-To Recipes

As parents, you’re either thinking this or someone is asking this - "What’s for dinner?" You know you’ve made good recipes in the past, but your mind is drawing a blank on what they were. Or, you have some go-to favorites but you still need the actual recipe to follow but you can't find it. Is this just me?

Well, I've discovered something very handy for remembering your favorite recipes. On Google Drive there is a recipe template! Now you can document and find your favorite recipes with a simple click of the button.

Now, I've started the new habit of entering my go-to recipes into Google instead of trying to find them locked away in my brain somewhere. So easy!

Tablet displaying food recipe, set on a kitchen counter with measuring spoons, wooden spoon, toothpicks, and a bowl of green limes.

Recording our favorite recipes also means we have them saved to pass down to our kids. Printing off these recipe favorites would make a good gift when they go off to college or get married.

Below is my go-to chicken and rice casserole recipe. Please share with me one of your household favorites because someone just asked me - "What's for dinner?"

Chicken and Rice Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 2-4.5oz cans white meat chicken, drained

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup

  • ½ cup mayo

  • ½ cup diced celery

  • ½ cup diced onion

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp pepper

  • 1 bag Success Rice, microwaved/drained

  • ½-1 stick butter

  • 1-2 sleeves Ritz crackers, crushed

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In a large bowl, stir to combine the first 9 ingredients.

  3. Pour into greased 9x13 casserole dish.

  4. Make topping by melting butter and then folding in crushed crackers until well coated.

  5. Sprinkle topping to cover the top of the casserole.

  6. Bake for 30 min uncovered until crackers are golden and crispy.

Tips: Can substitute rotisserie chicken for canned chicken. Can substitute Cream of Celery soup or use any two canned creamy soups you have on hand. Amount of chicken and cracker topping used in the recipe can vary based on preference.
