Updated: Oct 26

Fresh strawberry season is upon us, and this means wonderful opportunities to make sweet memories with deliciously fruity recipes! Below I'll share my recipe for Strawberry Buttermilk Cake. But first, let's talk about picking strawberries.

Hands picking ripe red strawberries against green leaves, conveying freshness and harvest in a garden setting.

Once you have a gorgeous gallon of strawberries on-hand, we’ve got you covered on how to use them!

This Strawberry Buttermilk Cake is a favorite of mine, and I have it on my personal blog Sugar and Spice by Celeste. The batter bakes up into a delectably moist cake with a great texture (hello, buttermilk!). The addition of freshly whipped cream on top lends a strawberry shortcake-ness that you'll love. Plus, it could be topped off with a wide array of different fruits. We can't wait to get our hands on fresh peaches and blueberries at the farmers' market soon, so that we can make this again…and again!

Strawberry cake with a slice cut out, on a decorative white plate. Bright red strawberries contrast with the light, airy cake.
