Why a Bake Sale?
At Itty Bitty Bakers, we frequently receive requests for financial donations, making it challenging to choose whom to support. In recent years, we've opted to concentrate our donations on a single cause annually through a community fundraiser. Our bake sale not only generates funds for a meaningful cause but also teaches kids the value of serving others. Baking encourages kids to look beyond themselves and assist those in need. Sounds like a great screen-free summer activity, don't you think?
Why Feeding America?
Millions of children in America experience food insecurity each day. According to the USDA, in 2022, 17% of U.S. households with children experienced food insecurity, impacting 13.4 million children. That means 1 in 5 American children don't have enough food, or don't know where their next meal will come from. When children have enough food, they can concentrate on important things like doing well in school, playing sports, and graduating. At Itty Bitty Bakers, we have a passion for alleviating the burden of food insecurity in the lives of children and families. Bake sale volunteers will bake recipes at home and bring them to the sale, with all proceeds going to Feeding America's local food bank - the Community Food Bank of Alabama.

What are the Baked Goods?
Volunteers (kids and families) bake at home and bring their baked goods to the bake sale. We have a Bake Sale Handbook that contains recipes we've compiled that are great for bake sales.
The recipes include:
Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Orange Roll Cupcakes
Oreo Pound Cakes
Mini Fruit Pies
Homemade Cheese Crackers
Brownies
and so much more (even dog treats for the pups at the park!)
