Recipes to Make with Kids: Lemon Berry Cookie Cups
There are so many things you can do with sugar cookie dough. For this recipe, I recommend using a cookie dough mix and focus more on having kids shape it into cookie cups. Pressing the dough into mini muffin cups is a great motor skill challenge for little hands. This is the kind of recipe that works well with kids under age 10. For older kids, I think they can try to do it on their own, reaching out to parents, if needed.

Recipes to Make With Kids: Strawberry Shortcake Cookies
At Itty Bitty Bakers, we love strawberry season! Here's a recipe from summer camp 2020 that we absolutely love and it calls for fresh strawberries. We chose this recipe so kids could get the chance to use kid-safe knives and chop the strawberries themselves. We also chose it so we could talk during the baking and cooling time about the nutritional benefits of strawberries.

Merging Play and Food: How to Get Kids to Eat Vegetables
Many parents have children who eat both raw and cooked vegetables with ease. As a Registered Dietitian, I'd like to say I am one of them. But my child has been on the slow train to Veggietown and it has required a lot of time and patience just to get to the outskirts of town.
To work on getting my son to eat more vegetables, I decided to let him play with them. I don't mean a free-for-all with them, though I'm sure he'd love to drop-kick a head of lettuce like a soccer bal

How to Get Creative with Cheesecake
Last week, I asked my 5 year old son Wyatt if there was anything he really wanted me to cook for dinner soon. After suggesting “Pizza Hut” and “cookies,” he caught me in a weak moment and said “cheesecake!”
I can’t resist cheesecake.
So, I decided to make mini cheesecakes (for dessert, not dinner, of course). Mini cheesecakes are great because they can be made in a muffin tin using cupcake liners. My daughter Mia wanted "marshmallow cheesecakes," so I went with it.

Recipes to Make with Kids: Bird's Nest Coconut Macaroons
In 2019, the kids in our baking classes made Bird's Nest Coconut Macaroons. The toasted coconut, melted chocolate, and mini Cadbury eggs were a winning combination. This recipe is easy to do at home, and kids love it (even the ones who think they don't like coconut).

Storybook Baking List: 29 Picture Books With Real Recipes Inside
Reading and baking are two of my favorite things to do with my kids. I absolutely love seeing their wonder and excitement with both. Whether they're lost in a great story or watching their baking turn out just right, these activities are two of my favorite ways to make memories with them. It's even better when we find a storybook that contains a recipe. My kids love finishing the book and shouting, "Let's make the recipe!"

Recipes to Make with Kids: Mini White Chocolate Cherry Scones
If I ever start another business it's going to be a scones shop. The problem is that it's hard to convince people that scones are amazing and delicious - not dried out biscuits with a little bit of glaze on top. I have, however, convinced my son Luke and they are his favorite thing I bake. Out of all the flavors he's tasted, he deems these Mini White Chocolate Cherry Scones "the best scones EVER!"

Recipes to Make With Kids: Avocado Smoothies
Finding ways to incorporate more fruits and veggies into our children’s diets can often feel like an unachievable goal. I often wish my kids still had the voracious appetite for fruits and vegetables that they had when they were babies when they would gorge themselves on sweet potatoes and bananas.
